Islam and Christianity: how can we make sense of all the discourse and believe in peace?

Islamophobia, Christianophobia, competition for victim status and sometimes also competition in numbers... It is not always easy today to live peacefully between Christians and Muslims. How can we distinguish between fear, history... and faith in all this discourse? What resources can we draw on to live our faith in a peaceful and constructive way in our pluralistic societies?

Mgr Etienne Guillet, 49, is the new bishop of Saint-Denis, a department located in the Paris suburbs and considered the poorest in France. Prior to this, he was parish priest in Mantes-la-Jolie and Trappes, towns marked by great religious and cultural diversity.

Saïd Daoui

Saïd Daoui is currently a doctoral student in sociology at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Economic Sociology (LISE/CNRS). He is working on the international mobility of descendants of Maghreb immigrants to Morocco. He is also very interested in the Muslim community in France.
