The origins of political commitment

December 29, 2025 at 3:00 PM (UTC+1)
Collège des Bernardins 20 Rue de Poissy, 75005 Paris
English, French
Two French MPs will talk about the source of their commitment (their spiritual and cultural heritage), the humanist principles that underpin it, and the political ethics that drive them. They will discuss the duality between collective discipline and freedom of conscience, between defending their territory and concern for the universal, and the relationship between ethical conviction and a sense of responsibility. Finally, they will attempt to answer why Christians cannot distract themselves from political engagement.
